Oscar winner charged after fatal crash

Roger Avary, the Oscar-winning co-writer of 'Pulp Fiction', has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence after a fatal railway car crash northwest of Los Angeles.
Reuters reports that the crash occurred in the city of Ojai, 80 miles (130 km) northwest of Los Angeles, at around 1am on Sun.
Thirty-four-year-old Andreas Zedini, a passenger in Avary's gondola, died of his injuries at a local infirmary, Captain Monica McGrath of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department said.
Avary's 40-year-old married woman, Gretchen, was taken to infirmary with serious injuries.
Headwaiter McGrath said Avary was released from gaol after posting $50,000 bail.
